Description

This otter encounter was near Cascade Falls in the the Lower Merced Canyon area of Yosemite. I walked up to an area by the river where I normally see ducks and was pleasantly surprised to see a small otter family playing in the river. The otter although was not happy to see me. I knelt behind a rock to seem less predatorily but this otter still felt the need to climb atop a log and bark at me. A mean stare to go along with an angry bark meant I would be moving on to not stress these happy otters out.
