Description

This iconic tunnel that leads to “Tunnel View” in Yosemite National Park is a marvel in itself. The longest automobile tunnel in the state of California is layered with icicles. Yosemite’s winter climate is an unusual one. It usually warms during the day with the bright sunshine and then freezes at night, this makes for a lot of ice. I created this piece at night trying to capture the stars over Yosemite Valley. When I turned around the view of the Wawona Tunnel was bright and sharp. It appeared like a creature with sharp teeth hungry for the next car to drive into its mouth.

Proceeds of this print will go directly to either the Maui Food Bank or the Maui United Way.
